14 The Authority | August 2024 Please let your voices be heard at the next Township meeting. Why? The Township is considering the sale of the Authority. At the meeting, the Township Board of Supervisors will be considering paying a firm to value the Authority for potential sale. Currently the Township is experiencing budgetary shortfalls with current tax revenues not projected to cover current expenses. Additionally, there is other long-term debt. The Township believes the sale of the Municipal Authority will provide funds to the Township to cover these expenses. Why should you care? We are your local not-for-profit water and sewer provider. Selling the Authority will result in the loss of local control of rates, water quality, and water and sewer services. Selling to a for profit company will raise your water and sewer bill between 87% and 151%. This means the average residential user will see an increase of either $884 dollars or $1,213 a year. Please see the authority website for additional information. What can you do? Contact us at phone number XXX_XXX_XXXX. Contact your Township Supervisors at the Township Supervisors e-mail address (list them). Thank you for being an Authority customer.
