We were awarded $200,000 through the Small Water and Sewer Program and another $500,000 through the statewide Local Share Account supported by DCED and the Commonwealth Financing Authority. These funds will be used to construct an underground stormwater retention system in Dormont Park. T HANK Y OU FOR Y OUR S UPPORT S ENATOR W AYNE F ONTANA AND R EPRESENTATIVE D AN M ILLER ! Over the past 4 Years, the Authority has received $1,720,000 in Grant Funds to support Dormont stormwater projects. 2024 A NNUAL R EPORT J ANUARY 2025 O UR R AIN G ARDENS F LOURISHED ! Our rain gardens in the Krugh Parking Lot and Espy Parking Lot are thriving. In 2025, the Authority will construct another rain garden in Dormont Park. Rain gardens reduce stormwater, control flooding, and address overflows. Urban Plantscapes does a great job keeping our rain gardens healthy and clean! W E P LANTED M ORE T REES In fall of 2024, we worked with the W. Pa Conservancy, Eisler Nurseries, and Urban Plantscapes to plant 22 new trees for residents in front yards. Dormont lost significant tree canopy over the years and replacing trees is the least expensive and most effective way to control stormwater and flooding.
