Pickering was selected to lead Pittsburgh Water in June 2020. Before serving as CEO, he was Deputy Executive Director and Director of Public Affairs. During his tenure, Pittsburgh Water has received national recognition for improving drinking water quality by replacing over 12,000 lead service lines, rehabilitating critical water and sewer infrastructure, and implementing assistance programs to ensure all customers can access safe and reliable water services. About the National Drinking Water Advisory Council The prestigious NDWAC council is composed of 15 members who offer independent advice and recommendations to the EPA on national drinking water policies. The council’s diverse membership includes professionals from state and local water and health sectors, academics, citizen water advocates, and rural area representatives, as well as two representatives from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who serve as liaisons. Members may contribute to working groups, policy recommendations, advice letters, and reports on specific water-related issues.
