The award presentation took place at PMAA’s 82 nd Annual Conference in Hershey. “Representative Matzie has been instrumental in raising awareness about Act 12 reform and the impact of so-called ‘fair market value’ on the ratepayer. He is also the prime sponsor of HB 1862, HB 1863, HB 1864, and HB 1865 which places much needed guiderails on Act 12 of 2016,” said PMAA President Bill Ross. “I appreciate PMAA’s work to strengthen municipal authorities across Pennsylvania,” said Matzie. “I’m honored and humbled to receive this award, and I will continue to advocate for Act 12 reform in Harrisburg to protect ratepayers and strengthen municipal authorities.” The Distinguished Legislative Service Award identifies state legislators for their dedication and distinguished service to municipal authorities in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. These lawmakers take action to support or defend local voices making local choices. Some of their actions include sponsoring legislation on behalf of member authorities, voting in support of the Association’s policy positions and working behind the scenes to rally support for municipal authorities throughout the legislative session.
